Great shoot with Elena Chernyakova today! And thank God for me missing an SD card case and having to keep one in the camera, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to shoot. I packed everything, but packed the SD cards in the wrong bag.

Apparently Youtube has released the hold on the new upload of my "Wages of Sin" movie. They've said nothing about the old one (with the 400,000 views), but we'll see what happens. And there's the possibility of another product placement deal for The Perfect Letter. I'll be checking into that later as well as another company

“The Perfect Letter” Offers Serious iPadding

His script is written and he’s already started shooting, but along with his T3i and his refurbished Kodak Playfull ZE pocket camera is his iPad, on a tripod and ready to shoot. Joining a growing movement of modern filmmakers, video bloggers and filmmakers, Chicago based indy filmmaker and Youtube producer Nathyn Brendan Masters is incorporating his iPad Mini as not only a helpful production tool and prop, but as an actual B cam for his movie, The Perfect Letter. “It’s all about experimentation, I want to see how far I can push myself and the technology I already have,” says Masters

Based on a short film by John H. Rogers III, Masters plays Eric Chauncey, a down on his luck writer who takes a job offer from Mara Tophel, a seductive literary agent. But after receiving a mysterious package in the mail, strange events begin to befall him. Masters will not only be the lead in the movie, but also the primary camera operator as well, planning on only seeking help when needed such as for fight scenes. “I’m literally doing everything this film, just to see if I can. I’m anxious to see how it turns out.”

The idea of iPad filmmaking isn’t new and has been gaining amazing ground with hobbyist and pros alike. In 2012 Aaron Mento released a trailer for his movie “Standards of Living” the first feature film shot completely on the iPad 2 with it’s 720p camera, but one year earlier Majek Picture’s used iPhones and the iPad 2 not only to shoot their action series “Goldilocks”, but also edit the footage. Companies are even marketing various lens and accessories for not only for the iPad, but iPhone also allowing them to emulate some of the image control of modern DSLRs. 

Masters has just published “The Youtube Producer’s Handbook” and a follow up eBook only guide about filmmaking with iOS Devices, detailing the apps and hardware needed to aid in iOS Filmmaking entitled “The iOS Filmmaking Quick Guide”. both available on amazon.com. ####
