I do like the lowlight of the Kodak Playfull ZE, much better than the FLIP. I did a little shooting with both the Playfull and my T3i camera, but I have to see what footage I like best.

Experimented with the Playfull ZE today, really pleased with the lowlight performance in Downtown Chicago. It was a little too good with lowlight. LOL. See it all come together. Check us out here: http://igg.me/at/theperfectletter/x/9172

Columbia College Chicago professor Ron Pitts has passed away. He was a cool down to earth guy every time I spoke with him and was a fixture at Columbia. According to Alison Cuddy of WBEZ "He was the first African-American hired to teach film at Columbia College and was still teaching there at the time of his death."

Indiegogo for "The Perfect Letter"!

http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-perfect-letter/x/9172

One hit wonder Jason Chauncey seeks to move off the literary midlist into the realms of rich famous novelist. While Jason loves mystery he is given the chance to write "The Perfect Letter", a strange horror novel based on notes given to him by his new agent, Mara Tophel. But things take a strange turn when he find out events in the novel mirror those of horrific real life events.

Financial Break Down...
Because of how I plan to shoot this the financial need will be small and breakdown will be as follows.
  • Paying the Main Actors. I want to pay the main actors upfront instead of having them wait for payment. As you will see we're dealing with great actors, including a few scream queens known in the low budget horror genre. With films like these it can take awhile for money to come in so I would like to be able to pay them something as there is no real crew.
  • Food to feed the actors. In indy filmmaking the one thing you always have to do is feed your actors. And we always do so.
  • Locations. We will need at least one hotel room for a scene and one nice apartment or home and one basic studio apartment. But location fees only total about $500.
  • If we don't receive full funding most of the money will go for feeding and paying the actors and locations, generally in that order.

Why Support The Perfect Letter...?

Because this is an experimental feature that will stretch my abilities on all levels. I will direct, shoot, light, edit and do music for the bulk of this film. That wouldn't be a big deal if I weren't also starring in it. This is would be my fourth film, my last movie was "Epitaph: Bread and Salt" (which can be bought on eBay, right now or can be bought right here).

This is my first actual horror movie, meaning it will be more mystery/suspense versus action based, although if you know me, you know there's gotta be a few chops and kicks, but aside from action scenes and Kelsey Zukowski's scenes which she also shot herself, I will shoot everything else. This is different because normally I direct my films, but only shoot a very small amount, (basically some of the scenes I'm not in). But also support us because...
